Who We Are

We've been providing insurance protection to individuals and families like yours for generations. Young drivers, today's busy families and retirees alike have come to depend on us.

Debbie Lonsdale, CIC

I have been selling Personal and Commercial lines of insurance primarily from our office in East Hampton since 1996. I also enjoy writing life and health insurance for individuals and businesses. I am also proud to say that I achieved my CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation in 2002. I am required to attend rigorous classes each year to keep me up to date on all the new issues that arise each year in an ever changing industry. This gives me the knowledge I need to design insurance programs which meet the needs of all of our customers. I consider it a personal goal to find the right kind of coverage at the best possible price.

Because I’m a wife and the mother of two teenagers, I’m always on the go. But my busy schedule gives me a greater appreciation for the needs of my customers. I know what people go through in the course of a week. I consider it part of my job to take care of their insurance so that they have one less thing to worry about.

Patty Podoloff, CISR, CIC

I've been a member of the Mather & Pitts family for over 25 years. My primary responsibility at MPI is to manage the Commercial Lines unit. I also serve as the agency's bookkeeper.

I'm proud to hold two insurance industry designations: CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), as well as having earned my A. S. degree in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College.

When I'm asked why I've stayed here at Mather & Pitts, I answer that MPI is a great family to be a part of. Everyone is supportive, flexible and caring. I'm proud to be part of an honest, ethical and upright firm.

Paul Uricchio, CISR

I joined Mather & Pitts in March of 2000 and work mainly out of our Deep River office. My primary responsibility is to sell personal lines of insurance but I’m also involved in selling commercial package policies as well as life and health policies. I especially enjoy insuring antique cars and antique homes.

I take pride in the fact that we work very hard at our agency to do things the right way and not the easy way. Because of that, many of our clients and their children have trusted us with their insurance for many years.

I really enjoy helping people understand the sometimes confusing issues surrounding insurance and the importance of being adequately covered. I look forward to a long relationship with the companies we represent and more importantly with the people we insure.

John Solovei, CIC

I’m a former school teacher and I love to educate my customers about insurance. I always try to explain what insurance policies will do and what they won’t do. To me, ‘selling’ insurance means educating consumers about which policy best meets their needs.

When I’m not working, I devote as much time as I can to my wife and best friend, Nancy. I also try to spend at least a little time canoeing and fly fishing.

My goal at Mather & Pitts is to manage the agency according to the principles found in Scripture and to honor God in all I do.

Cathy Saltus, CISR

In my years of insurance experience, I’ve gained extensive knowledge of computer applications and programs. I also take pride in my customer service abilities.

My philosophy is simple: listen to what my customer is asking and answer their question or find a solution to their problem. I live by that simple rule and actually welcome a challenge! It’s my job to help you understand your insurance needs and the coverages your policy provides.

I dedicate my spare time to family activities and enjoy baking, reading, crocheting and writing short stories.

Donna Masiello, CPCU

My professional background includes many years of experience as a personal lines company underwriter. While working for the company, I obtained a Charter Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU), which is a widely recognized achievement in the insurance industry.

Working at Mather & Pitts is a new career endeavor for me. As an employee here, I am excited to have the opportunity to use my acquired skills to benefit the agency and customers alike, while developing new skills.

Meeting the needs of our customers is what it's all about and I make it my personal mission to give the best customer service possible. If along the way I can make you smile, it’s a plus.

In my leisure time I enjoy volunteering for different organizations, long walks in the sun and traveling to various countries to explore other lands and meet people.

“Welcome to Mather & Pitts Insurance. How may I help you?”

David Solovei

My wife and I moved to Maine in 1984. After 35 years working in heavy industry ranging from Power Generation to Aerospace, and after the children left home, we bought an old rustic farm in Central Maine. The farm needed a whole lot of new energy and some much needed TLC. We both have a love for perennials and fresh grown produce. The opportunities that this project presents to us is very exciting as we love to share our produce with others.

My experience lends itself to Commercial Insurance applications with a specialization in Church Insurance. I enjoy speaking with Church leaders ranging from Pastors, Governing Boards, Elders, and interested members. Stewardship is important to me and I try to teach how Insurance can meet the needs of being a good steward.

Patty Solovei

My main goal is to give the utmost attention to the ‘behind the scene’ details that help make our office run smoothly. Hopefully, you’ll soon be contacting me for all of your insurance needs.

My husband and I are thoroughly enjoying our two sons Ryan and Jacob. They keep us pretty busy, but when we have spare time, we enjoy camping and being with our families.

Chris Caron, Church and Ministries

I am the father of two young girls and a native of East Haddam, Connecticut. My focus is to provide insurance for churches, ministries and non-profit
organizations so they may fully carry out the good work they do.

My professional life began by serving my country in the U.S. Air Force. The service enabled me to both see and live in some interesting places and equipped me for later endeavors. Starting out at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, my working life progressed from flying, to aerospace defense, to building my own small business, and eventually serving on a Christian School board while managing an insurance program. Along the way, I have enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, traveling and hiking-all of which demonstrate my love for the outdoors. This remains a passion that I continue to share with family. During these years, I was blessed to learn and experience much about life and business. Most importantly, it was during these years that I came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Today, my life centers around actively serving my Church in youth ministry and raising the girls with my lovely wife, Shirley. My goal is to bring my experiences and gifts to bear in understanding the needs, limitations and aspirations of your ministry and helping to secure it properly. I count myself one of the fortunate few who truly love what they do and have been uniquely prepared to serve you.
